Oak
Ridge Theatre Arts Boosters
MISSION STATEMENT
The purposes of this Organization are to provide organizational
and financial support to the Oak Ridge High School Theater Arts Department,
to support the program priorities as established by the Theater Arts
Department Director, to promote and encourage school board, administrative,
faculty, student and community interest in support of the Oak Ridge High
School Theater Arts Department, and to foster a closer relationship between
home, student, and theater arts department faculty through parental
involvement.
Our Goal
The success of the Drama program’s extracurricular
activities has significantly grown over recent years largely due
to the support of the Oak Ridge Theatre Arts Boosters parent club
since its inception 5 years ago. As the program developed and tackled
new challenges, the parent club stepped up to help support the drama
teacher and the students to make sure their experiences in the program were
enhanced, rewarding, and more than just learning how to “recite a
monologue”. Each year we strive to accomplish a few key
objectives and add new ones as the need arises. The
foundation of our support has always been:
1) To increase the visibility of the Drama program at Oak Ridge High School and to the
community of El
Dorado Hills.
2) To help ensure that "no child is left
out" of the program, either financially or due to lack
of their own
parental support for whatever reason.
3) To make sure that every student’s work
is recognized, whether they are in "leading
roles",
"supporting roles", "chorus", or "tech".
4) To provide a safe and positive environment in an after
school or extracurricular activity
that encourages and
fosters responsibility, discipline, and teamwork.
5) To provide an environment where our students can
actually get involved in an activity
or program where
their parents can also participate on some level - something that you
usually only find in
the "sports" programs.
6) To provide information and additional support for our
graduating students who are
college-bound or
seeking a career in theater or performing arts.
